Global Olive Corporation is implementing a project on olive cultivation and processing in Kazakhstan

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, discussed with the President of the Global Olive Corporation, Georgy Svanidze, the key stages of the project for the cultivation of olive trees and the production of olive oil in Kazakhstan.

The project was initiated in 2023, when Kazakhstani companies QVM Technology LLP, Ordabasy Group and Yervira, together with the Georgian Olive Georgia company, began experimental planting of olive seedlings in Turkestan, Mangistau and Zhetysu regions. More than 6 thousand seedlings were planted, the survival rate of which was 99.7%. It is expected that the first harvest will be obtained in five years.

In the spring of 2024, the project was expanded, and olive seedlings from Spain and Turkey were additionally planted. By the end of 2025, it is planned that the area of olive plantations in Kazakhstan will reach 100 hectares.

The Minister noted the importance of the project, which is a logical continuation of the agreements reached in February 2025 between the Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Georgia.

"The Ministry faces the task of increasing the share of processed products to 70%, and the development of the olive industry is of strategic importance for the agro-industrial complex. We are ready to create all the necessary conditions and provide comprehensive support in the implementation of this project," said Aidarbek Saparov.

Giorgi Svanidze expressed confidence that the olive growing project will have a significant impact on the development of agriculture in the country.

"Our goal is to develop the olive industry in Kazakhstan. In general, we intend to increase the number of seedlings to one million, and we are ready to train young agronomists in technology and bring our experts. As part of the project, it is planned to build an olive oil production plant and a nursery for the production of seedlings," said the president of Global Olive Corporation.

Representatives of the partner of the Georgian company in the Republic of Kazakhstan, QVM Technology LLP, noted that the Ministry of Agriculture provides maximum assistance in the implementation of the project.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed. A Roadmap will also be developed, which will determine the timing and activities for the successful implementation of the project.

We add that the cost of the project will be 20 million dollars. In the future, it will provide a harvest of 150 thousand tons of olives per year, of which about 30 thousand tons of olive oil will be produced.
