On April 18, 2023, an agreement was signed for the pilot planting of olive tree seedlings in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The agreement provides for joint exploration of potential opportunities for the implementation of a pilot olive seedling planting project. The territories of Jetysu, Turkestan and Mangistau regions of the republic were selected for the project.
Within the framework of the pilot research planting of olive trees until the end of 2025, it is planned to collect and analyze soil, climatic, meteorological and other data. The result of scientific research will be a report and recommendations of Professor Pablo Morello of the Spanish University of Cordoba.
The parties also discussed the establishment of an association of olive growers in Kazakhstan and further membership in the International Olive Council.
Investors from the side of Kazakhstan were “qvm technology”, “ordabasy group”, “Yervira”. Together with the Georgian company “olive georgia” Kazakhstani businessmen intend to plant and further monitor the growth of seedlings. Founder of “olive georgia” George Svanidze - President of the International Olive Council, expressed confidence in the favorable outcome of this experiment and willingness to provide international support to Kazakh olive producers.
