Biryukskaya area is located in the Northern Balkhash region, where a number of famous gold and copper-porphyry deposits are located. Common the area of the geological allotment is 56 sq. km. According to the analysis of the US Geological Survey (USGS, 2014), the Biryukskaya area belongs to the forecast area 3c, where the discovery of 2 large porphyry deposits with total reserves of 190 tons of gold and 7.4 million tons of copper is expected. Anomalies of secondary hydrothermal alteration and pronounced vertical zoning of Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn, favorable for the discovery of epithermal deposits, were revealed (SRK Consulting).
